The lost art of guitar playing

Most guitar instructors stretch out their courses for months and months with repetitive, boring and costly lessons – like strumming chords.

Learn To Play Guitar The Fast, Easy and Fun Way

The purpose of my soloband website is to reveal a 1950s secret guitar method that enables anyone to play guitar songs in a matter of days instead of months.

Did you know there was a secret way of playing guitar that was lost over 40 years ago?

In the 1950s, we had a secret. It was the reason thousands of us could pick up a guitar and start making music—really fast.

In the 1980s, guitar music and the secret faded away.

In the 2020s, online “gurus” hook students with “learn guitar in a week,” then push costly “Must Have” special lessons (before students can even strum properly). It’s all about the money.

Back in the days before computers, the Internet, YouTube, videos, and smartphones. Back when very few TV sets existed and music was only available on the radio or on vinyl records. Back when music teachers only taught classical music.

Stop strumming guitar -- and Start playing guitar

Most people think of guitar playing as strumming the strings. However, the standard guitar is more versatile than any other instrument, including the piano.

While a guitar can provide rhythm and expression, it is also capable of playing melody, which adds depth and richness that no other instrument can match.

Play Live On Stage For Fun And Profit

From the mid-1970s to the mid-1980s, stricter DUI laws forced law-abiding adults to stop going out on weekends.

With less traffic, local venues could not afford to pay three and four-piece local bands for entertainment, so the musicians stopped playing live on stage.

By the end of the 1980s, most local musicians and the secret faded into history.

The collapse of local music also affected the wider music industry, which depended on local musicians for new talent.  (All the top super bands and most pop stars started as local musicians).

In recent years, I’ve proven that a solo local musician, playing for fun and profit, can replace the expensive three and four-piece bands of the past.
